The Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area includes 34 islands offering something for everyone! Imagine a place 20 minutes from Boston where you can camp, hike, fish, swim, picnic, explore tide pools, or just kick back and relax! National Park rangers lead tours of Fort Warren on Georges Island and tell the ghost story of the Lady in Black. From Georges Island, there is a free inter-island shuttle to Lovells, Peddock’s, Grape and Bumpkin Islands offering more sightseeing and adventure.Or visit newly opened Spectacle Island, home of a swimming area, Visitor center, and the highest point in Boston Harbor!
The Islands also offer a wide variety of special events and activities throughout the year. Harbor Islands Express ferries are brand new high-speed catamarans and make the trip to the Islands in under 25 minutes! We are ADA accessible and have snack bars and restrooms onboard. Note: Use your Go Boston Card at the Harbor Islands Express ticket kiosk at Boston Long Wharf and receive your boarding passes for the ferry.

Take the T: Take the MBTA Blue Line to the Aquarium station and walk to the other side of the Marriott Long Wharf. We are also accessible from the MBTA Harbor Express ferry. Directions: Take I-93 into Boston and follow signs to the New England Aquarium. Parking is available in the Harbor Garage next to the Aquarium. From the garage, walk past the Aquarium, through the Marriott Long Wharf hotel, and take a right towards the Harbor Islands Express ticket kiosk.
