Heritage Museums & Gardens

Heritage Museum Gardens The largest cultural attraction on Cape Cod. Heritage Museums & Gardens is located on 100 acres of award-winning gardens. Thousands of daffodils and tulips bloom the end of April, Dexter rhododendrons are at peak in the spring, hybrid daylilies in every conceivable color can be found all over the grounds mid-July through August and beautiful Hydrangeas can be seen in the fall. A Shaker round barn displays the J. K. Lilly III Automobile Collection as well as filling station memorabilia and seasonal exhibit. An orientation film is shown in a small theater. The American History Museum houses the military miniature collection and seasonal exhibits. The Art Museum is home to antique 1906-1912 working carousel, folk art that celebrates the American Spirit, and changing seasonal exhibits. The Hart Family Maze Gardens, a labyrinth, seasonal café and the Old East Mill are also located on the grounds. A Gift Shop filled with unique items, books and souvenirs rounds out the museum’s offerings.

Directions: From Rte. 3 South take the Sagamore Bridge to Exit 2, Rte. 130. Turn left on Pine Street and follow to the main gate. From Rte. 6 the mid-Cape Highway take Exit 2 to Rte. 130 north into Sandwich Village, turn left onto Grove Street and follow to main gate. From Rte. 25 to Rte. 24 to the Bourne Bridge go around the rotary and take Rte. 6A to Rte. 130 to Pine Street and the main gate.
