The International Tennis Hall of Fame–Home to the Legends of Tennis–is housed in the renowned Newport Casino, a National Historic Landmark built in 1880. The six-acre complex offers the Hall of Fame museum and grounds tour, highlighting the legendary grass courts where the first U.S. National Tennis Championships were played–the tournament that evolved into the US Open.

The Museum showcases an in-depth chronology of tennis history through interactive exhibits, extraordinary videos and popular memorabilia, dating from its earliest origins through today’s champions of pro tennis. Professional tournaments, the Hall of Fame’s annual Induction Ceremony and special events are scheduled, however the grass courts are also available for public play, lessons and clinics.

Located in the heart of Newport, the Hall of Fame is centrally located to shopping on Bellevue Avenue, including the The Tennis Store and Hall of Fame Gift Shop. Explore the Hall of Fame, its classic Victorian architecture, pristine grounds and world-class museum–it’s a “must-see” while visiting Newport!

Directions: From Boston and points north: Interstate 93 South, Route 128, Interstate 495 East or Interstate 195 to Route 24 South. Follow Route 24 through Fall River into Rhode Island. Take Exit 1 to Route 138 West. Take a left onto Route 138A. Go left at second traffic light. Proceed to the first major intersection and take a left onto Bellevue Avenue. The Tennis Hall of Fame will be first block on your left.
